Racoma Inc. is proud to announce a joint project of Borer Chemie AG, Switzerland and Steelco SpA, Italy for cleaning punches and dies used for the compression of tablets in the pharmaceutical industry.

Reprocessing of punches and dies Caring about compression tools such as punches, dies and segments is time consuming. Especially if the cleaning operation and conserving treatment of the tools is performed manually. Moreover, some of the steel grades are very sensitive to corrosion.

Unique process – fast results Based on the customer’s requirements an automated process has been developed by Borer Chemie AG in conjunction with Steelco SpA to address this issue and to provide an easy, safe, reproducible, validatable and economically way of cleaning these expensive tools. This unique process can be used for a broad range of corrosion sensitive grades of steel.

A complete process, including cleaning, applying of a corrosion protection and drying takes 55 minutes

            Cleaning and conservation is performed in the same process.
            No need for any further manual application of corrosion protecting oil

● One-step handling possible
The tools are placed in a transfer basket after being removed from the compression machine tower

The same transfer basket will be placed into the washer and after the cleaning process stored in a

dedicated area.

● Increasing lifetime
The correct handling, care and maintenance of valuable tools increases their lifetime significantly.

cGMP washers from some manufacturer are already known to be used for such applications.

Such washers are very expensive and often exceed the customer’s budget by far.

With this in mind Borer Chemie AG and Steelco SpA developed a process to clean these tools in a laboratory grade washer.
